How to take care of skin in winters? – Natural Tips for Winter Skin Care

Winters! This sounds scary to the skin, isn’t? if Yes don’t worry here I’m with some really good hacks that will take this fear away from all of us. Let’s straight away jump into the super cool hacks that I personally recommend for winters.

1. USE LUKEWARM WATER TO WASH YOUR FACE

Warm water is always a pleasure in winters, but our face is too special for us so why not keeping the special thing as special as it is, use lukewarm for a face.

As we all know lukewarm water can help ensure that our facial cleanser gets the right amount of foaming action, removes enough dirt from the surface of our skin, and balances our natural skin oils appropriately.

2. MOISTURIZE AFTER EVERY WASH

Cleaning or washing can remove essential moisture from the skin, especially if you are using a harsh soap. By applying a moisturizer each time you wash, you can help your skin to retain its natural moisture.Even, a good moisturizer will create a protective barrier that prevents water from evaporating and drying out your face.

3. PROTECT YOUR SKIN

Sunlight is preferred to be good in winters but not for the skin. so protect your skin from sunlight even if it’s winter.

Use Sunscreen: Use a broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of at least 15. Apply sunscreen generously, and reapply every two hours — or more often if you’re swimming or perspiring.

Seek a Shade: Avoid the sun between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., when the sun’s rays are strongest.

Wear Protective Clothing: Cover your skin with gloves & scarves.

4. DRINK WINTER READY WATER

We tend to drink less water in the winters and start consuming more hot drinks like coffee, tea, soups, but don’t forget that our skin needs hydration from inside, out.
Drink a little warm water with lemon and its fresh leaves so that can be refreshing and hydrating at the same time.

5. MOISTURIZE BEFORE GOING TO SLEEP

After a big day Hands, Feet, Elbows and Knees seem to be dry again till night, wondered why? even when you’ve already used a moisturizer once. This is because these are the most exposed areas of a body which remains in direct contact to nature.

Use a deep moisturizing balm at night and cover it using your long socks and gloves to lock the moisture until you awake.

6. EXFOLIATE

As we all know exfoliating is the foundation of good skin. If the skin is nice and exfoliated, it soaks in the moisturiser a lot better. In the winters, if you skip exfoliation and moisturise over dead skin cells, what’s the point of it, really? The cells will instead block the moisture and defy the whole purpose of it.

Choose a good mild exfoliator which can do a job of two: a moisturizer, an exfoliator.
Exfoliate your face, hands as well as your lips. After exfoliation, apply moisturizer immediately to see a smoother difference. Remember! Don’t exfoliate more than once in a week.

7. DIY MASKS

Homemade hydrating masks can do wonders to the skin as they can provide all needed nutrients for the winters. Use natural moisturizing ingredients like honey, avocado, yoghurt, Banana’s, almond oil, olive oil, jojoba oil and aloe. Here I am sharing one of my DIY MASK secret which I probably use in winters for healthy skin.

I use a facemask which I create using milk and almond.

Ingredients
1. Tablespoon almond powder
2. Tablespoon raw milk

Steps to Create
1. Make a paste out if it and apply it on your face
2. Keep it for 10 minutes
3. Massage gently and wash off with water

BENEFITS OF USING THIS MASK: Almonds are rich in Vitamin-E so that gives a glow to your skin and as we all know milk is the best moisturizer for skin. This mask makes your skin soft, supple and glowing. It also reduces dryness from the skin.

Follow these simple hacks and trust me you will start loving winters as I do now. 🙂
